A long tradition of jurisprudence – the Georgi family
The namesake of today’s law firm, Günter Georgi, acquired his basic knowledge of law from his father, also named Dr. jur. Günter Georgi. As a member of the Council of Economic Experts, his father helped lay the foundations for German federal tax law. He was also a board member of various associations and a member of the management board of the Federation of German Industries (BDI) and various companies, including Ruhrkohle AG (RAG). His brother, Dr. jur. Hans-Joachim Georgi, was head of the Essen tax office.
Before that, his grandfather Dr Friedrich Koch, Doctor of Law, had served as Senior Consistorial Councillor in Berlin, and his great-uncle Dr Martin Koch, Doctor of Law, had worked not only as a lawyer but also as a canon lawyer and author of various commentaries and writings on canon law.
The son Philipp Georgi is now continuing the family tradition of working as a lawyer in the fourth generation.
